Allena has stated for the record (and I'm not about to argue) that the next house we buy will definitely have a wood stove, and we're thinking a gas range/oven might be a good idea too. You need to invest in a wood burning stove and a generator. Friends of ours in Northeast Iowa (well Shannon's old camp councilor) use nothing but a wood burning stove to heat their house..... though nothing says family togetherness like - Bounce on your sister in the wee hours of the morning!!
