It’s been a fun few days…
We’ve been enjoying the ice storm for the past few days. We haven’t had power since Sunday at around 2:00 in the afternoon. Our phone was out yesterday too. Having everyone sleep in the same room will keep the room warm enough to be comfortable, but when your one-year-old wakes up at 3:30am and decides it’s play time (he demonstrated this be jumping on his sleeping sisters), then sleeping is tough even if you are warm. Maybe the power will be back on today.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaang!!! You need to invest in a wood burning stove and a generator. Friends of ours in Northeast Iowa (well Shannon’s old camp councilor) use nothing but a wood burning stove to heat their house…..
though nothing says family togetherness like - Bounce on your sister in the wee hours of the morning!!

We finally got power back last Wednesday. Allena has stated for the record (and I’m not about to argue) that the next house we buy will definitely have a wood stove, and we’re thinking a gas range/oven might be a good idea too.
