XGL/Compiz

I don’t stay as technically informed as I used to (nor as much as I’d like to), so I may be a bit behind the times on this one.

I found this today: XGL/Compiz

Which is just about the coolest desktop functionality I have ever seen. Sadly, it’s on Linux only, and I run Windows for work (gotta make a living) and at home because there just isn’t that much kids software for Linux. Someday I’ll have a machine that is my “toy” and I can run whatever I like.

Richard runs this on his Linux box (toy, frustration, love, geekpride, geekshame) and it’s pretty darn snazzy.

Huh??? I couldn’t see what it did, but I’m sure it’s neat. I try to be geeky, hey I’m writing my own theme for my blog that makes me geeky right? I did find this…

Version 2006 is out, it’s free and it’s awesome. Wonderful webediting tool. It’s a little slow on my machine.
